GIS (Geographic Information System)

A system for capturing, storing, displaying, analyzing and managing data and associated attributes which are spatially referenced. Representation of a real-world object in a GIS as a single geometric object is called a “GIS Feature”. Tabular information about “features” contained in GIS data is commonly referred to as an “attribute”.
